History
Culture Forward TV was created in 2020 by Culture Forward Media Group LLC, a Los Angeles based, film production, development and multi-media technology company. The streaming app made its debut on the Roku platform in May of 2020, after being conceptualized for nearly 3 years. The free streaming app quickly garnered 20,000 installs from a diverse audience of viewers that wanted to see themselves represented on the screen. Amongst the first projects on Culture Forward TV was Best Friends, For Evan's Sake, Freeword, Social Distant Living and Blood & Water, as well as educational content from Brother BenX, Lemel Durah from Compton Vegan, Flint Water Crisis from 501C3 and music visuals from Judell Rome and UraelB. In 2021 Culture Forward TV became the first Black Owned Ad-Based streaming platform after signing deals with Mars Media Group Inc and Apple. Driven by purpose, community and unification, Culture Forward TV will always be free to the public. Five years after its inception Culture Forward TV is now available on Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung TV, LG TV, Game Loop, Android TV / Google Play, Apple TV and IOS.
Distribution
Culture Forward TV is a streaming app and Distribution outlet for indie filmmakers, creators and artist. By the year 2026 the platform will have produced and purchased 50 titles of new and classic content. Standard avenues for film and TV distribution are difficult to obtain, all their own... For Black and diverse creators, the pull-up bar is higher and the success numbers are abysmally lower. Diverse filmmakers creating diverse content, for a diverse audience is a job for an inclusive company that understands the paucity and obstacles. Culture Forward TV is here to bridge all gaps and to be the voice of the Underdogs.
